The Velvet Room marks his debut full-length album and a rare contribution to Southern soul from the perspective of a gay artist. Across ten tracks, he traces love, desire, heartbreak, self-discovery, and ultimately the decision to stop abandoning himself for the comfort of others.

Avery — a gay Southern soul artist claiming space in a genre built on heartbreak, faith, and grit, and telling those same stories from a perspective it has rarely made room for.
